It’s officially pride month and it’s time to do a roundup of my pride picks that release this year (2021). I love that there’s such a diversity of representation in Young Adult LGBTQIA+ books. Every year, it seems to get better, with more and more books with gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer, intersexual and asexual characters. I even read a Middle Grade LGBT book (Thank A Lot, Universe) this year! This is in no way a comprehensive list, but here are some books I’ve read or plan to read in 2021!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s topic is “Book Quotes that Fit X Theme”. I had a nice relaxing weekend. It was my first weekend without homework in about six months, so it almost felt like a three-day weekend! I did a game night at my friend’s house on Friday and had some friends over Saturday evening. The rest of the weekend, I just read, rested, did some chores, and watched TV. It was a rainy weekend that was perfect for cozying up inside.

Be sure to check out her post! 5OnMyTBR is a series where you show some love to books sitting on your TBR (to-be-read) list by picking 5 that relate to that week’s topic. This week’s topic is “Purple Cover”.

Well, it’s officially been forever since I last updated. I’m happy to say I’ve finally finished the course-work portion of my teacher training and only have to do my student teaching! It’s been completely exhausting and I finally feel like I can breathe again. Going forward, I should have a lot of more time (at least until the fall) to work on writing and this blog.

I’m sorry I’ve been so lax on updating. It’s been ridiculously snowy here on the East coast, so I’ve been more than happy to stay indoors and read. I’ve also starting working on some miniatures to unwind after work. But mostly, I’ve been busy doing 60-70 hour weeks between work and school, which is not leaving a ton of time for blogging. But I’d love to hear from you guys! What are you reading? How are you doing? What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?
