It’s officially pride month and it’s time to do a roundup of my pride picks that release this year (2021). I love that there’s such a diversity of representation in Young Adult LGBTQIA+ books. Every year, it seems to get better, with more and more books with gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer, intersexual and asexual characters. I even read a Middle Grade LGBT book (Thank A Lot, Universe) this year! This is in no way a comprehensive list, but here are some books I’ve read or plan to read in 2021!

I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a crazy year for everyone. And while it’s been unpredictable and tumultuous for me as well, it’s resulted in a lot of personal and professional growth. I feel really positive and hopeful going into 2021 and anticipate a lot of major life changes. I’m not a huge fan of resolutions, but I’d like to set a few intentions for 2021.

Happy New Year! It’s been a minute since I posted. I took a break over the holidays and got some extra reading and schoolwork done and spent time with my immediate family. Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing holiday. I just squeaked by my goal of reading 75 books in 2020, though I had to listen to the last book on audiobook because I got Lasik surgery on the 30th. Recovering nicely and excited to start off the new year right. Here are some of my most anticipated reads for 2021!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is doing well and had a nice weekend. It’s been about two weeks since I posted and I’ve been feeling guilty and also really missing everyone on here! Teaching and being back in school has sucked my energy dry. The cold and dark of winter hasn’t helped either. I had a nice Thanksgiving with just three members of my immediate family. We’ve been eating vegetarian, so we made homemade pasta instead of turkey this year. How was everyone else’s Thanksgiving (if you celebrate)?
