Monthly Update: September!

I’ll admit, I’ve been lax in updating my blog lately. I miss writing here and all of you! So I decided to make a little reading/life update to keep everyone in the loop!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Autumn 2020 TBR List

🍁 🍂 Happy first day of Autumn! 🍂🍁

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s topic is books on your fall TBR (to-be-read) list. There are so many exciting books coming out this fall it was hard to choose! Here’s ten I’m really looking forward to!

2020 has undeniably been a difficult year for everyone. Whether you’ve lost someone or been sick, whether you’ve been laid off or had to put plans on hold, had to take classes on zoom or graduate online, this pandemic’s effects have been far reaching.

Photo Prompt Friday: Come Away, O’ Human Child

Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.

I’m in Massachusetts this week visiting family and have been enjoying the time off. Hoping the weather will hold up so we can visit the beach tomorrow or Friday. It was my kitten, Momo’s, first long car ride, but she did amazingly and is excited to explore a new place.

Folklore Book Tag

I’m not a die-hard Taylor Swift stan who’s followed her entire career, but I think she writes super catchy songs with good hooks. I first started listening to her music during the Red era. She’s an awesome lyricist and I think a lot of girls and young women can relate to her words. I really enjoyed listening to Folklore and it’s folk-rock influence. I like how understated it is compared to the sharp edge of Reputation and the explosion of rainbows that was Lover.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month With These Reads

It’s Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th-October 15th) and there’s never been a better time to pick up a book by a Latinx author. There are so many awesome books to choose from, but here are just a few I’ve read and that are on my to-read list!

Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Stunning Libraries I Want to Visit

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana at  The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is “Questions I Would Ask My Favorite Authors”, but I wasn’t too jazzed on the topic, so I came up with one of my own. After making a post about 10 Bookstores I Want to Visit, I thought it would be cool to do the same, but for libraries. It was so fun looking at pictures of all these gorgeous libraries and it left me with a serious case of wanderlust!
