WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam over on Taking on a World of Words. Every week, you dedicate a post to the three W’s: What are you currently reading? What have you just finished reading? What are you going to read next?

Things are going well here. I did a bunch of shopping in the last week to get ready to go back to school. Our house had some leaks from Hurricane Irma and our basement flooded a tiny bit. The roads were crazy though! Broken down cars and flood water everywhere! We’re supposed to have another flash flood this evening from Hurricane Larry, but I’m hoping it won’t be as bad. I had my first week of student teaching this week! It’s been really fun getting to know all the 6th graders at my school. I’m excited to teach and learn from them.

What I’m Currently Reading:

I’m currently listening to an audiobook of The Damage by Caitlin Wahrer. I’ve really been in a mood for more mystery books this year, but it’s really hard to find authors I like. I just wish every mystery read like a Tana French book. So far, The Damage is okay. There are some time jumps that don’t serve a purpose yet, so I’m waiting for some big reveals or twists. I’m also reading The Witch King by H.E. Edgmon. I’m all for the representation in this one, but so far, it reads a bit juvenile.

What I’ve Just Finished Reading:

I finished The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake and I’m completely obsessed! I loved the morally grey characters and the setting and the stakes. If you like dark academia, run to get this one! I’m really excited for this author and series!
