Top Ten Tuesday: Nature Covers

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s topic is “Books with Nature on the Cover”.

The children must go, we will take them farther into the wood, so that they will not find their way out again.

Hansel and Gretel, The Grimm Brothers

I love this Top Ten Tuesday prompt because “nature covers” can be interpreted so many different ways. I really love gothic horror and dark fairy tales and wanted to choose book covers that featured creepy woods. I put a bonus two books just because I like how all the covers looked together. I’ve read six of these and the other six are on my to-read list.

Left to right, First Row: Horrid – Katrina Leno, Mayhem – Estelle Laure, and House of Hollow – Krystal Sutherland.

Left to right, Second Row:The Waking Forest – Alyssa Wees, Whispering Pines – Heidi Lang & Kati Bartkowski, and A Curse So Dark and Lonely – Brigid Kemmerer

Left to right, Third Row:After the Woods – Kim Savage, Ghost Wood Song – Erica Waters, and Forest of Souls – Lori M. Lee.

Left to right, Fourth Row:The Hazel Wood – Melissa Albert, Rule of Wolves – Leigh Bardugo, and Winterwood – Shea Ernshaw.

Have you read any of these books? Do you plan on reading any of them? What are some of your favorite nature covers? Have you done this Top Ten Tuesday prompt? Leave me a comment and…

Until next time,

  1. Love the covers and theme you chose for this prompt. There’s something so intriguing about the gothic/dark fairy tale vibe these covers give off.

There are several I still need to read, but especially A Curse So Dark and Lonely and Rule of Wolves! 🙂
