WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam over on Taking on a World of Words. Every week, you dedicate a post to the three W’s: What are you currently reading? What have you just finished reading? What are you going to read next?
What I’m Currently Reading:
I just started Leigh Bardugo’s illustrated book of Ravka fairy tales The Lives of Saints. Leigh Bardugo is one of my favorite writers – and not only because we share a first name – so I got the illustrated physical copy. It’s a really gorgeous hardbound book and I’m enjoying the stories so far. I think it will be a quick, enjoyable read. I’m also took After the Flood by Kassandra Montag out of the library. It’s an interesting read so far!
What I’ve Just Finished Reading:
I finally finished Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar. I was drawn in by the gorgeous cover and Indian mythology, but the book fell really flat for me. I didn’t connect to the characters – the relationships seemed really under-developed. The world and descriptions were interesting, but the plot was thin and there didn’t seem to be much at stake. Overall, a disappointment after anticipating it all year. I also read Katie O’Neill’s The Tea Dragon Festival and Dewdrop. I love her illustration and really enjoyed both of these.
What I’m Going to Read Next
I ordered a physical copy of Naomi Novik’s A Deadly Education, but it hasn’t arrived yet, so I’m between reading this and Tana French’s The Searcher next. I really love both these authors so I have confidence I’ll enjoy them both.
What are you all reading? Have you read or do you plan on reading any of these? Leave me a comment so we can chat.
Until next time,
