Monthly Update: September!

I’ll admit, I’ve been lax in updating my blog lately. I miss writing here and all of you! So I decided to make a little reading/life update to keep everyone in the loop!

After laboring through a not-so-stellar last read for the past 2 weeks, I’ve fallen behind my yearly reading goal by two books. Overall, I read six books in September (and even that number is greatly padded by graphic novels). I’m hoping to get back on track for my October reading. Especially with so many great books coming out!

So without adieu, here’s the books I read in September.

The Dutch House – Ann Patchett

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The House in the Cerulean Sea – TJ Klune

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Pumpkin Heads – Rainbow Rowell & Faith Erin Hicks

Rating: 3 out of 5.

The Tea Dragon Festival – Katie O’Neill

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Dewdrop – Katie O’Neill

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Star Daughter – Shveta Thakrar

Rating: 2 out of 5.

And on a personal note, part of the reason I haven’t had as much time to write lately is because I got a new job! I’m working as a Teacher’s Aid for Special Ed students grades 6-8. So far it’s been really awesome. All the teachers are really nice and the students are great. I’m adjusting to my new hours and life outside the apron (I used to be a barista).

I’m also going back to school in November to get my teacher certification, so lots of exciting stuff coming up! After one of my last posts about feeling stuck, my life seems to be flying full speed ahead.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, prayers and vibes! 🔮✨🙏

That said, I’m excited to get back to posting more regularly very soon!

Please leave me a message and let me know what you’re reading and what’s been going on with you!

Until next time,

  1. Congrats on the new job! You’ll be amazing. And good luck with going back to school! I’m sorry you didn’t seem to enjoy Star Daughter. I had high hopes for that one. I’m so excited to read the Cerulean Sea to 😍

    1. Thank you so much! Yeh, Star Daughter was highly anticipated for me this year and though I liked the diversity, the plot kind of dragged and I never cared about the characters or felt that anything was at stake…You should definitely read House in the Cerulean sea though! Can’t recommend that one enough!
