It’s Monday once again! Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I ate outside at a restaurant in New York City this weekend for the first time since the pandemic started and it was so nice to do such a normal activity.
WHAT I READ LAST WEEK:
This past week, I read Harrow the Ninth, the sequel to Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. I usually struggle with sequels, but this book completely blew me away. (And was almost too clever for my brain to comprehend). I had no idea what was happening for about eighty percent of it until all the twists were revealed at the end, but kept reading for Muir’s delicious prose. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all its big reveals and I’m hooked for the next book to see what happens
I also read the novella The Haunting of Tram Car 015 by P. Djèlí Clark. This book has come highly recommended and won quite a few awards and I loved the world-building in this short novella. It was steampunk Egypt in the early 1900s meets Paranormal Investigators and just wow! Can’t wait to read other things by this author!
WHAT I’M READING NOW:

I just started The Friend Scheme by Cale Dietrich. It’s been good so far and seems like it will be a fast, enjoyable read.
WHAT I’M READING NEXT:

I’ve been dying to read Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas, which comes out September 1st. Can you believe next week is September already??
What is everyone reading? Have you read or do you plan on reading any of these books? How’s your week going?
Until next time,
