Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Bookstores I Want to Visit

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana at  The Artsy Reader. This week’s topic is a Freebie (you get to come up with your own!) I borrowed this idea from Anna at The Bursting Bookshelf. You can view her post here. It was so fun to live vicariously through these pictures as most bookstores are grab-and-go only right now.

5 Bookstores I’ve been to:

The Strand, NY, NY, USA

You can get lost among the multiple levels of the Strand – from its books to used books to cute bookish merch (pins, pens, postcards, socks, etc). I love to visit whenever I get the chance.

Blackwell’s Bookshop – Oxford, UK

Blackwell’s is one of my favorite places to go in Oxford. They have an amazing selection of books and that really academic, Oxford feel.

Shakespeare and Company – Paris, France

Shakespeare and Company is so cute and I make sure to visit every time I go to Paris. I love the little green facade and its cluttered selection of books.

Kyobo – Incheon, South Korea

Kyobo Bookstore was one of my local spots when I lived in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, South Korea. I loved their selection of books and all their cute stationary. Plus I loved how they decorated with plants everywhere. Really cozy spot.

Montclair Book Center – Montclair, NJ USA

Montclair Book Center is close to where I grew up in New Jersey and I love their giant, organized collection of used books. It’s always worth a browse when I’m in Montclair!

5 Bookstores I want to visit

Book and Bed – Tokyo, Japan

I’m so mad I didn’t know about this Book and Bed, which is part library, part hostel, when I lived in Japan. There’s one in Kyoto too! It’s literally so cute!

El Ateneo Grand Splendid – Buenos Aires, Argentina

This bookstore was first a theatre, then a cinema and now is filled to the brim with books. I love the frescoed ceilings and tiered theatre boxes. So cool!

Albertine Books – NY, NY, USA

I love the dreamy, celestial ceiling in Albertine Books in NYC. It’s definitely on my list to visit soon!

Libreria Acqua Alta, Venice

A floating bookstore? This sounds absolutely amazing! I’ve been to a lot of Southern Italy, but never made it to Venice. Will definitely stop here whenever I visit!

Selexyz Dominicanen, Maastricht, The Netherlands

This former church turned bookstore in the Netherlands looks amazing. Definitely on the bucket list of places to visit!

Have you been to any of these bookstores? Are any of them on your bucket list? What’s your favorite book spot?

Until next time,
