It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? #IMWAYR

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I had a long, trying week last week, which unfortunately translated to a lot of time not writing or blogging. But I’m ready to get back into the groove this week!

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK:

Frances Hardinge’s writing is really so beautiful. I’ve only previously read A Skinful of Shadows by her, but I actually enjoyed this one a lot more. I love books set by the sea or dealing with the ocean, so this was right up my alley.

WHAT I’M READING NOW:

Finally moving on to the E-Arc of We Were Restless Things I received from Netgalley.

WHAT I’M READING NEXT:

Really excited about Agnes At the End of the World and just got Jess’ Kidd’s short story collection out of the library.

What are you reading this week? Are you enjoying/not enjoying it?

Until next week,

  1. I just finished “Call the Nurse” by Mary J. MacLeod, a memoir of her time spent in the Hebrides on an island in the 1970’s. Speaking of isolation from outside influences, this is a delightful picture of the best and worst of dependence on your neighbors.

  2. Oh, I’m reading The Adventures of John Carson by Brian Doyle. A masterly piece of exuberance, with sentences 200 words long that fall onto the next page like bricks of decadence stacked one after the other. And if in a hurry you can just read chapter 4, skin the cover and hook the rest in the outhouse. It’s just one of them books.
